Official: Shelby reveals updated 2013 GT350 with new colors and options

Carroll Shelby may have passed away last month, but that doesn't mean his company has stopped producing new vehicles. Today, Shelby American announced that it has updated the GT350 for 2013 with new options and an expanded range of color options. Customers can now choose from any of the Ford factory hues, meaning that everything from Gotta Have It Green to Candy Red can be applied to the GT350's exterior. The new colors can also be paired with new stripe colors - black, white or metallic blue - as well as black or silver wheels. Also new for 2013 are options for a glass roof and Recaro seats, and an updated rear valence.
What hasn't changed are the GT350's performance credentials. A 430-horsepower version of the 5.0-liter V8 comes standard, although we're guessing many customers will opt for the supercharger system with an output of either 525 or 624 horsepower.
Shelby says that it will produce just 350 GT350s for 2013 with the post-title package (not including the base car) starting at $26,995 or $33,995 with the supercharger system. You can read the official press from Shelby below.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican U.S. Representative Michael Grimm's office was filled with conservative Tea Party activists one day last month and they weren't happy.
Tito Ortiz talks about UFC 148, the Hall of Fame and the next chapter
It's going to be an eventful summer for Tito Ortiz, a man who was recognized as one of the most important fighters in the growth of the UFC when the promotion decided to induct him into their Hall of Fame. He will fight Forrest Griffin on July 7 at UFC 148, making it the third time the pair will meet. After that bout, Ortiz plans to retire.
"I've done everything," Ortiz told Cagewriter. "My body has taken the toll. (back injury, acl replacement) My body just can't train, and training is hard on your body, so I wanted to go out on my own terms."
But before retirement, he will fight Griffin. The pair first faced off at UFC 59. It was a close fight won by Ortiz and was considered one of the best fights of 2006. Griffin took the rematch by split decision at UFC 106. Though they've fought each other for six rounds, Ortiz said he still is studying Griffin because it's part of the job.
"Gotta do your homework. I've got to do as much homework as I possibly can. I see mistakes that he does," Ortiz said. "It doesn't matter that it's my last fight. I'm still pushing my hardest."
He was touched by the UFC deciding to make him a Hall-of-Famer.
"It means all the hard work that I did means something. I've worked really hard in this business for 15 years. I've gotten to succeed, to be very successful, at mixed martial arts in the UFC."
Because he has been in the fight game for so long, he has not had as much time to spend with his family as he would like. He has three sons, and is happy the next stage in his life will involve plenty of time with them.
"First thing is being a full-time father. Being with my kids every single day. I'm starting the second chapter of my life, and it's truly about family."

In February of 2012, So-Gnar's Pat Milbery and Captain Safety spearheaded and arranged for a unique trip to Japan, called Shredded Beats: Japan. Shredded Beats Japan was an ART/MUSIC/SNOWBOARDING excursion to one of our favorite places on the planet. We brought fellow Colorado music producer Michal Menert of Pretty Lights Music and Adam Harris, Coalatree's staff filmer, to film and document our travels. We touched down in Tokyo, and were off! We stayed with several of So-Gnar's closest friend's in various areas of Japan. The crew sampled the local cuisine, taught a 2 day snowboard camp (with over 30 little Japanese rippers!), Michal tore it up at Club New Lex in Roppongi, we hit the world's largest fish market, spent numerous days in the Mountains getting fresh powder, and even had some time for some street art. This trip was primarily based around the Japan stop for the Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour, So-Gnar's annual 12 stop event. This was the second year we have conducted snowboard camps for kids in it the Yuzawa community of Japan. Through our relationship with Allian Snowboards, we have been able to help progress snowboarding in Japan through this annual 2-day camp. During the trip, the very talented Michal Menert created a soundtrack based on the various inspirational of surroundings & landmarks of Japan, including the local culture influencing his music development. Google's Nexus 7 tablet outed before I/O 2012 (update: now with specs, price)
Well, it looks like the rumors are true. This morning, just ahead of 2012's Google I/O initial keynote, Android Police dug up what looks to be an official press shot of Mountain View's unannounced 7-inch tablet, aptly named the Nexus 7. As opposed to our previous sneak peek, this shot shows what is most assuredly the home screen for Jelly Bean, and comes directly from Google's servers. Glad we got that settled. Now we just need to know about the actual hardware inside -- good thing we've only gotta wait another hour or so to find out.
Update: Hoo, boy! The hits keep comin.' The good golks at Modaco managed to grab screenshots for the sale page of the Nexus 7, replete with screenshots and specs. Turns out, the tablet has a 1280x800 IPS display coated in "scratch-resistant Corning glass," which we presume is of the Gorilla variety, plus a front-facing, 1.2-megapixel camera. Within its 198.5 x 120 x 10.45mm case lies either 8 ($199) or 16GB ($249) of storage, plus 1GB of RAM, and NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 SoC. Connectivity comes courtesy of GPS, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Micro USB, plus it's got NFC for all your Android Beaming needs. Rounding things out is a 4325mAh battery and the usual spate of sensors: accelerometer, magnetometer, and a gyroscope. Want more? Martin Kampmann and Michael Chiesa big winners at ?The Ultimate Fighter? finale
In his last fight, Martin Kampmann was beat up by Thiago Alves for an entire fight before coming back with a submission win. This time, he only needed two rounds to get a comeback win.
Jake Ellenberger clipped Kampmann off the bell of the first round. He knocked him down and then tried to follow up with a bevy of strikes. Kampmann held on for the rest of the round. In the second, Kampmann again appeared wobbled, but caught Ellenberger with a right. He then finished the fight with knees that ended the fight at 1:40 in the second.
UFC commentator Jon Anik hinted in the post-fight interview that a match-up with Johny Hendricks in a title eliminator is the next step for Kampmann.
Michael Chiesa won "The Ultimate Fighter" tonight with a rear naked choke that put Al Iaquinta to sleep at the TUF finale in Las Vegas on Friday night. Chiesa held off Iaquinta's attacks early on before getting the takedown. He took Iaquinta's back and wore him down until he could finally maneuver the choke into place. Iaquinta didn't tap; instead the fight was stopped when referee Herb Dean recognized that Iaquinta was asleep at 2:47 in the first.
It was an emotional win for Chiesa, whose father died the first week the younger Chiesa was at the TUF house.
"This is exactly what I wanted. There's no way I was going to sell myself short. I overcame a lot of things to win this fight," Chiesa said after the bout.
With the win, Chiesa gets a six-figure contract with the UFC, a Tapout sponsorship and a Harley-Davidson. Iaquinta can be comforted by the fact he won $50,000 before even stepping in the Octagon. He won bonuses for Knockout of the Season and Fight of the Season for his bout with Myles Jury, who won $25,000. Joe Proctor won $25,000 for the Submission of the Season.

The first fight on FX was an entertaining back and forth battle that featured John Cofer's wrestling facing off with Justin Lawrence's striking. In the third round, Lawrence quickly ended the seesaw of a fight with a kick to Cofer's jaw. It knocked Cofer straight to the canvas and gave Lawrence the knockout win 19 seconds into the third round.
Max Holloway used unrelenting body shots to take out Pat Schilling in a unanimous decision. Schilling struggled to find any offense and just took the beating that Holloway gave him. Whenever Schilling was on the ground, Holloway beckoned him to stand up to keep the fight on its feet. Holloway, the youngest fight in the UFC, won the bout 30-27 on all three judges cards.
Charles Oliveira again showed that featherweight is the correct weight class for him as he showed his jiu-jitsu prowess with a second-round submission of Jonathan Brookins. The first round was filled with both men getting in good shots, but Oliveira took over in the second. He weakened Brookins with ground and pound, then sunk in a modified guillotine to cause the tap at 2:42.

Researchers at the MIT Media Lab have developed an ambient lighting system for video that would make Philips' Ambilight tech jealous. Dubbed Infinity-by-Nine, the rig analyzes frames of footage in real-time -- with consumer-grade hardware no less -- and projects rough representations of the video's edges onto a room's walls or ceiling. Synchronized with camera motion, the effect aims to extend the picture into a viewer's peripheral vision. MIT guinea pigs have reported a greater feeling of involvement with video content when Infinity-by-Nine was in action, and some even claimed to feel the heat from on-screen explosions.
