Dan Hardy vs. Rory Markham is your knockout of the week
Dan Hardy usually fights well in his home country of England. For example, check out what he did to Rory Markham at UFC 95 in London.
On Saturday, he will fight Amir Sadollah in his hometown of Nottingham. He's gone 1-4 in his last five fights, but recaptured that knockout ability against Duane Ludwig in May. Will Hardy come up with another fine performance for the people of Nottingham? Speak up in the comments, on Facebook or Twitter.

Who should replace Jose Aldo at UFC 153?
After Jose Aldo pulled out of his title defense with Frankie Edgar, the UFC was left without a main event in a fight card that is a month away. Who can fill in and face Edgar? Here are some possibilities.
Chan Sung Jung: "The Korean Zombie" is popular, an exciting fighter and will still have Brazilian fans excited to see a card that was decimated in just a few hours time. His last three fights have ended in stoppages, and his win over Dustin Poirier proved he's ready for big time.
Chad Mendes: On Tuesday, Mendes tweeted, "Let's make it for the interim title and IM IN!!" The interim title stipulation is a bit odd when it's not yet known exactly how long Aldo will be out and unable to defend the belt.
Ricardo Lamas: He had already accepted the fight with Aldo for UFC 153 when Edgar stepped in. He has wins in his last three fights, and could be ready to go for the fight card n Rio.
Jimy Hettes: "The Kid" is undefeated and has shown he can pull out thrilling submission wins. He is scheduled to fight Marcus Brimage at UFC 152, but if there's anything this summer has taught MMA fans, it's that all fight cards are subject to change.
Godofredo Pepey: His fight record is not one that dictates main event status, but it's really, really fun to say Godofredo Pepey.
Who do you want to see in the UFC 153 man event? Tell us in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Paris: BMW Concept Active Tourer breaks with tradition, goes front-wheel drive [w/video]
Filed under: Concept Cars, Hybrid, Technology, Paris Motor Show, Crossover, Hatchback, BMW, Luxury

We've seen the leaked photos and finally the web reveal before the Paris Motor Show, but now the BMW Concept Active Tourer is here, in all its diminutive, plug-in glory. BMW is billing its two-box Concept Active Tourer as a study in both design and powertrain.
With an upright driving position and Hofmeister kink at the D-pillar, the Concept Active Tourer evokes some design elements used in BMW's crossovers. The front end, however, is unmistakably influenced by the new 3 Series. At 171 inches, it's just an inch longer than the F20 1 Series, but it's also roughly five inches taller.
The Concept Active Tourer is motivated by BMW's eDrive system. It features a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine as part of a hybrid drivetrain, with its charge derived from a lithium-ion battery pack. Combined, the plug-in hybrid system makes 190 horsepower and 147 pound feet of torque. In a major break with BMW protocol, the Concept Active Tourer is front-wheel drive. BMW claims zero to 62 mph in under eight seconds and a top speed of 124 mph. Fuel economy is estimated at 2.5 liters per 100 kilometers, or roughly 94 miles per gallon on the European cycle.
The rumormill had a production (and likely non-hybrid) version of the Active Tourer wearing the 1 Series Gran Turismo nameplate, and there's still a chance that this compact tall wagon could wear that name in production form. There's no official word on if or when a roadgoing version will bow, but we aren't expecting it to come to North America anyhow. In the meantime, check out our gallery of the Active Tourer Concept before scrolling down to watch a video and read BMW's official verbiage.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has recently been given the green light to start training for his Nov. 17 fight with interim champ Carlos Condit. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, GSP said he wants to finish fights because of the criticism he takes for going to decision, as he did in his last four fights.
Saying he wants to be more "opportunistic," GSP said he is fighting the world's best.
"I can make up a bunch of excuses but the truth is I'm fighting the best guys all the time and it's tough competition. You cannot always win by beautiful fashion. The guy that is in front of me is a very good guy. He's the No. 1 contender all the time and now I'm fighting the (interim) world champ in Carlos Condit. I'm working a lot more on being more opportunistic and it's going to pay off I'm sure."
With a record of 22-2 and six title defenses, GSP has proven himself one of the best fighters to ever grace the Octagon, but the lack of recent finishes nags at the idea he is the very best. A finish over Condit could silence those worries.
GSP also talked about a few other, non-fight-related items. He said if he wasn't a fighter, he would be a paleontologist or archaeologist. And his favorite splurge food?
I like McDonald's. Three cheeseburgers, French fries, poutine with chicken McNuggets and a big Coca-Cola.

Five questions that will be answered by UFC 152
Finally, we have a fight week after way too long of a break. Jon Jones is putting his belt on the line against Vitor Belfort, a middleweight. It's not the fight we want, but it's the fight we get. Here are a few questions that will be answered by Saturday night's fights in Toronto.
What does changing an opponent on short(ish) notice do to Jon Jones? If there has been one hallmark of Jon Jones' career, it's been good preparation. In every title defense, he has shown a complete knowledge of his opponents strengths and weakness. He then exploited those weakness for a win. This is why he wouldn't take Chael Sonnen on short notice. With Belfort, he had about a month to study up which is a shorter time than usual. If he's not prepared, the champ could end up beating himself.
Will Michael Bisping or Brian Stann be the (maybe possibly could be) next middleweight contender? UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva's next fight will be against Stephan Bonnar, but beyond UFC 153, he needs a new opponent. This could be decided with the Bisping/Stann match-up ... perhaps. If Silva decides he wants to fight only Georges St-Pierre or light heavyweights with middle names that start with a Q or take six months off, the Stann/Bisping winner could be left in the cold.
Can the flyweights steal the show? Joe Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson's bout to decide the inaugural flyweight champion was the headliner before the cancellation of UFC 151. Though they're not the main event of the night anymore, but that doesn't mean the 125-lbers won't be the stars of the show. The little guys tend to bring exciting fights. That should be no different on Saturday.
Does Matt Hamill still have it? It's been more than a year since Hamill ended his career -- for the first time -- with a loss to Alexander Gustafsson. He's back after a brief retirement, but will he still have the fire to get it done in the Octagon? He'll have a chance to show it against Roger Hollett.
Will fans tune in? UFC 152 was solid before the Jones/Belfort bout was cut together and pasted onto the poster. But people's response to the cancellation of UFC 151 was angry. It's possible the anger will carry over and keep fans from spending $54.95 on Saturday night.

Twelve South HiRise takes iMacs and Apple displays to new heights, tidies up in the process
Many of those who buy iMacs and Apple-designed displays are eager to avoid clutter in the first place, which makes an organizer all the more logical for those who'd like Desk Zero almost as much as Inbox Zero. Accessory maker Twelve South's newly available HiRise aims to clean it all up -- and lift it up. The aluminum-and-steel frame elevates Apple's modern all-in-ones and screens to any one of six points while conveniently leaving storage space that goes with the local computing decor, whether it's to hold external hard drives or car keys. Although the HiRise is no trivial expense at $80, it's better for propping up an iMac than an old college textbook, and arguably more useful as a whole.

Apple Lightning cable inspection finds an extra-smart connector, won't make for cheap substitutes
Apple made much ado of the Lightning connector it launched side-by-side with the iPhone 5, but what we've known about it has been limited outside of the presence of an authentication chip. Double Helix Cables' Peter Bradstock has delved deeper and tells AppleInsider that there's some clever wiring that clinches the reversible design. While Lightning's power supply is truly symmetrical among the contact pins, the data isn't -- which suggests a chip inside is redirecting data to keep the plug working as intended. The technique helps explain why Apple would need any elaborate circuitry in the first place. No matter the wizardry inside, Bradstock doesn't see any cut-rate Lightning alternatives being useful in the near future: as it's unlikely that anyone outside of Cupertino knows how the authentication works at this stage, clone cables may amount to little more than heaps of metal and plastic.

Hands-on with Nokia's Asha 308 and 309 (video)
They're not the most compelling of devices, but for smartphone first timers, they should do just fine. Officially announced today, Nokia's updating the Asha Touch line with the 308 and 309 -- two new members of the Series 40 family that've moved past the feature phone designation and into smartphone territory. Priced at an affordable $99 (off-contract), this dual- and single-SIM pair are near identical with 3-inch WQVGA displays, 2GB of microSD storage (expandable to 32GB) and a 1,110mAh battery. We just happened to be onsite at the company's HQ in Espoo for the reveal of the diminutive devices, so follow on after the break for our first impressions.

Video: Tour BMW's Art Car collection with EVO
Filed under: Motorsports, Videos, BMW, Specialty, Design/Style, Racing

The last time we heard from EVO magazine's Henry Catchpole he was drifting a Caterham Supersports through the snow up the side of a French mountain.
There's more to the Scotsman than mad antics, it seems. After studying philosophy and art history, the final hurdle to getting his degree was writing his dissertation, the subjects of which were the BMW Art Cars. So, who better to take us on a tour of some of the works in the Art Car collection while it was in London for the Olympics?
Starting with the BMW 3.0-liter CSL dressed up by Alexander Calder and raced at Le Mans, and alighting on various models right through to the BMW M3 GT2 by Jeff Koons that was recently spotted in a fjord, the trip down art history lane is smart and entertaining. There are even background digressions to add to the fun. For instance: Warhol painted the M1 in just 28 minutes - so quickly that the camera crew hired just for the purpose didn't have time to film him painting it.
You can take the full tour with Catchpole in the video below, and the EVO site has photos of the cars when you want to slow things down.

Video: More details on Miami's Porsche Design Tower revealed
Filed under: Videos, Porsche, Design/Style

It's been almost a year since we last heard about the Porsche Design Tower just north of Miami Beach in Sunny Isles, Fla., and while construction of the building apparently hasn't even started yet, we get another look at the luxury apartment building thanks to a segment on Rock Center with Brian Williams.
The allure of this 57-story skyscraper is its glass-encased car elevator, which is shown in the video as an animation. This certainly won't be the first luxury residence featuring a car elevator with en suite parking, but it will be the first to allow the driver to ride along with the car as it travels from the ground floor to the specific unit and vice versa. When parked in the apartment, the car becomes one of the unit's many focal points as it is visible behind a glass wall.
In addition to the car elevators, the Porsche Design Tower will have everything expected of a Miami Beach-area dwelling with a Collins Ave address. Each of the 132 oversized suites has a balcony swimming pool, and prices are expected to be up to $9 million per unit.
Scroll down to watch the video.
