DirecTV has quietly updated both its iPad app and HR34 DVR with a variety of new features for Satellite-loving customers. The application will now resume from where you left off, comes with a much improved search function and best of all, a direct line into the company's support forums. Meanwhile, the HR34 swallowed a software package that included Pandora, a YouTube landing page and more readable closed captions amongst a raft of other nips and tucks. The former will be available through the app store, while the latter should have arrived on your box overnight, well before you start on that CSI marathon.

Thanks for the information, Sen Teacher! I am surprised that DirecTV keeps updating their iPad app and yet they still fail to find a way to compete with the DISH Remote Access app. They can add whatever features they want, but until they add Live TV anywhere, they will continue to fall short. I have the DISH app and I use it all the time but my favorite use is to take it down to the lake with me in the afternoon after I get off from my shift at DISH. I like to sit there with my dog and do a little fishing while I watch the Rockies play live on my iPad. I would be sad if I were stuck with DirecTV and couldn’t do this one simple thing.
